Conferences, seminars and panel discussions held in the framework of the exhibitions set new standards for furniture and trade interior design, manufacturing technologies and furniture sales. The key event of the Day of Design on May 14 was the 2^nd conference: Design as Competitive Advantage and Means for Furniture Promotion, organized by MVK International Exhibition Company together with the Idei Vashego Doma magazine and MDM-komplekt. Among the key issues discussed at the conference were: usage of light in the interior of furniture salons; marketing research of consumers’ demands in order to create modern furniture design; application of accessories.

On May 15, the Day of Trade and Promotion, they hold the seminar: Innovative Furniture Development as a main factor of success (organized by Artlinco A/S consulting company), presentation of the World Furniture Congress (with Callisto Valenti, the President of the World Furniture Confederation speaking) and the panel discussion: Furniture manufacturers, retailers and developers. Difficulties of interaction (organizer: Mebelniy Business magazine).

The manufacturers were looking forward to May 16, the Day of Technologies. At the seminar: Top technologies in manufacturing of ply-curve furniture, Prof. Petr Kostikov told about the peculiarities of this kind of production.

The seminars: Problems of the modern market: application of new varnish and paint and other coatings for furniture finishing; New materials as competitive advantage of a manufacturer; Finishing of furniture and building materials: the Bismarck technology; Business environment of the furniture market: new opportunities and other events were also very popular with the audience.

Visitors and participants of the shows had a unique opportunity to get free consultations from designers, engineers and interior decorators concerning blueprinting, building and repairing of houses, colour and style choice, and furniture placement. The consultations were organized by the Idei Vashego Doma magazine and supported by MVK International Exhibition Company. The fellows of the Deigners Union also hold consultations on interior design and decoration.

The architects invited by the Sovremenniy Dom magazine answered the questions about projecting and building of country houses.
The stand of the MEBEL 812 magazine provided the information about the furniture centres of St Petersburg.

The buying mood, Bright Accents, Accessories for Textile, Bijoux in Interior are the themes of the master classes organized by the Designers Union International Association supported by MVK International Exhibition Company. There were held about 30 of them. “We would like to thank the organizers and leaders of master-classes for useful and exciting information. We are fascinated with the mastership of designers. Calligraphy: the Art of Excellence was the motto of the presentation of the International Calligraphic Exhibition organized in the framework of the Euroexpofurniture and Interkomplekt/Interzum Moscow exhibitions. A picturesque laser show and concerts, rare exhibits, master classes of calligraphers from China, Belarus, Israel and Russia attracted the attention of the exhibitors and guests. Aleksey Shaburov, Director General of MVK International Exhibition company and project’s initiator, thinks the purpose of the project is to promote the ancient art of calligraphy in the modern society.

Two exciting culinary shows were held at a time in the hall of kitchen furniture. The culinary professionals of the Sladkaya Karoussel (Sweet Merry-Go-Round) cooked their delicious masterpieces using the Rondell dishware and Candy kitchen software built into the Verona kitchen furniture. The Kitchens of Germany organized the master class of the chief and TV host Alexander Seleznev. The visitors were happy to learn the nuances of exquisite dishes and capabilities of the modern kitchen and try the delicious dishes.

The framework of the exhibition included the Russian Furniture 2008 Review competition for the best furniture, accessories and consumables and Awarding ceremony of the winners of the contests 2007. Over 340 companies from 28 Russian regions presented over 510 furniture items during the 3^rd eliminatory competition (2007). The increase in the exhibition area of Euroexpofurniture and Interzum/Interkomplekt Moscow exceeds the furniture market growth. Besides, the shows are important tools of communication and promotion, centre of business innovations and also determine the prospects for the market development for the nearest future. The results of the show in 2008 show: quality and design of products gain the priority for the furniture consumers. “We have sold all the furniture!”, said Alexander Voinikov, the President of EuroImpax on the third exhibition day (general importer of the high quality German furniture Nolte). “Euroexpofurniture is the only furniture exhibition where the visitors place real orders”, said Marina Zaikova, fellow of the Designers’ Union International Association.
